Professional Experience

Sebastián Hernández Ávila began his professional career in 2016 within the civil, commercial, and bankruptcy litigation department of the law firm Santamarina y Steta.

In 2017, he joined Guerra González y Asociados, S.C., where he specializes in civil, commercial, bankruptcy, and constitutional litigation. He was recognized as an Associate in 2020 and subsequently promoted to Junior Partner in 2025.

He is an active member of ICC Mexico (International Chamber of Commerce), in which he participates in the following activities:

  • Arbitration and ADR Committee
  • Mediation Committee
  • Standby and Guarantees Committee

Specializes in complex litigation with experience in insolvency, civil, commercial, and constitutional matters, including significant experience in shareholder and corporate disputes, contract/agreement interpretation, as well as in the amparo proceedings strategies.

  • Representation of national and transnational companies in civil, commercial, administrative, and insolvency disputes before local and federal authorities.
  • Representation of companies in constitutional proceedings  (amparo proceedings) in administrative, civil, and commercial matters, acting in the defense of plaintiffs, interested third parties, and responsible authorities.
  • Design and implementation of comprehensive legal strategies in high-impact commercial, civil, and insolvency matters.
  • Specialized legal consulting in corporate restructuring, the resolution of shareholder disputes, and conflicts among partners.
